New CASA volunteers sworn in

Staff Report

On Wednesday, December 9, five new volunteers were sworn in by Honorable Mary Linn Green to join the Winnebago County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Program to serve as representatives for children in Abuse and Neglect Court. The volunteers sworn in are Jaime Conder, Ruth Engelking, Skye McGee, Xandra Stockon, and Michelle Weygandt.

CASA advocates serve child victims of Abuse and Neglect Court and assist them through life, the court system and foster care. CASA volunteers work with local professions to make sure the children are always the primary concern, with the goal of finding a safe, permanent home for every child.

For those interested in becoming a CASA volunteer you can call the CASA office at 815-319-6880 or visit winnebagocountycasa.org. The next training course begins in January.
