Tim Hanson will step down as Director of Public Works for the City of Rockford January 29, Mayor Larry Morrissey announced at a press conference Friday morning.
Hanson, a 10-year city employee, is set to move to the Rock River Water Reclamation District.
“It has been a great privilege to work for the city and the citizens of Rockford,” Hanson said in a release. “The public works crew is among the most dedicated and incredible employees I have had the pleasure of working with and I am thankful for the opportunity to work with them in serving the needs of the community.”
Hanson is credited with updating and streamlining DPW’s operations, saving more than $4 million per year.
