The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning for the Rock River at Latham Park, effective through 8 p.m. Thursday.
Water levels, affected by ice packs on the river, have risen to nearly 12 feet according to gauges at the park. Flood stage for the area is 10 feet.
Water levels are currently not expected to rise any further. NWS expects levels will begin to drop by Saturday afternoon.
Ice jams can cause sudden, unexpected fluctuations in the water level of the river. Residents are warned to pay attention to local conditions and avoid flooded areas.
