Nicholas Conservatory hosts Orchid Exhibit

The Rockford Art Guild is working with Nicholas Conservatory for the second year with an exhibit of more than 30 pieces of art. In addition the exhibit In Full Bloom: The Orchid Exhibit at Nicholson Conservatory, 1354 N. Second Street, will offer guests a chance to see rare and unusual orchids.

This is the first of several Rockford Art Guild exhibits that will be displayed throughout the community this year. The art will be on display beginning Friday, February 12 and go through Sunday, February 28. There will also be an opening reception on Saturday, February 13 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Rockford Art Guild President Pam Parkinson stated, “This event gives Rockford Art Guild’s artists an opportunity to share their many talents with the community. In addition, visitors will learn about the different art opportunities we provide to individuals and the Rockford area.”

In addition to the individual art pieces on display there will also be a mosaic that includes 8″x8″ canvases made through an array of mediums and subject matter. Each original piece of art in the mosaic mosaic will be available to purchase for $30 with proceeds benefiting Rockford Art Guild.
