Blackhawk Technical College students James Bagley and Justin Vegge have been awarded $2,000 Grainger Tools for Tomorrow scholarships.
These scholarships are offered to students studying skilled trades and public safety related programs. Bagley is studying Computer Numeric Control and Vegge is a student in the Electro Mechanical program. Both are set to graduate this spring.
“Grainger is investing in the future of American industry and local communities through the scholarship program,’’ said Kari Gates, the company’s Janesville based representative. “This year we celebrate the 10th anniversary of Grainger Tools for Tomorrow scholarship program. Grainger has supported outstanding students pursuing skilled trades and public safety careers and enjoyed partnerships with strong community colleges across the country. We are proud to partner with Blackhawk Technical College and believe business and college partnerships are one solution to building a stronger workforce, since 2006.’’
Grainger, which has outlets in Janesville and Madison, has offered these scholarships since 2006. Scholarship recipients also receive a customized Westward toolkit upon graduation.
