The Rockford Fire Department, in a partnership with Rockford Area Minority Management (RAMM) has announced recipient of the first Rockford Fire/RAMM Scholarship. This scholarship was awarded to Kenneth Fuzzell-Partee, Rockford East High School senior, during the RAMM annual banquet last week. Fuzzell-Partee plans to attend college in Tennessee.

This scholarship was created to assist students that are pursuing studies and career in fire service.

Fuzzell-Partee is the son of Zakkiyyiah Fuzzell, and grandson of Maurice Foreman and Bonnie Fuzzell.

“The Rockford Fire Department has always supported the development of Rockford youth, whether it is our outgoing partnership with Rockford Public Schools District #205, Explorer Program, or other community outreach,” said Rockford Fire Chief Derek Bergsten. “The partnership with RAMM is a natural continuation of these activities and allows us to provide a great opportunity for individuals who are looking to pursue a career in the fire and EMS field.”

Upon receiving the scholarship, Fuzzell-Partee said he was very excited about being selected as the first recipient of this scholarship.
