State Representative Litesa Wallace (D-Rockford) will be hosting a Coffee Shop Stop on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Rockford Rescue Mission’s Restoration Cafe, 625 W. State Street.
“I find that Coffee Shop Stops are productive opportunities to listen to residents and provide direct feedback,” Wallace said. “We face a number of difficult decisions in Springfield, and I want to make sure that I have the pulse of my community and advocate for their best interests.”
Residents are welcome to come discuss local and state matters with Wallace during this event. Wallace will be focusing on legislation that she is currently supporting such as bills on police investigation reform and hospital closures, as well as helping to inform on the current state budget issue. Free coffee will be available to those attending.
“Not only is this a good opportunity to discuss the direction of our state, but I also recommend those who have not been to Restoration Café to check it out,” Wallace said. “This café helps fund the Rockford Rescue Mission and provides vocational training to the mission’s life recovery program.”
