Charges against IceHogs Ross to be dropped: Reports
‘Revenge porn’ charges against Blackhawks prospect and IceHogs player Garret Ross will be dropped in DeKalb County, according to Nick Burzych, a radio show host with sportstownchicago.com.
Although the case remains on the docket in DeKalb County court, reports indicate that Ross was in Michigan at the time he transmitted the images of a former partner meaning he cannot be charged in Illinois.
Charges could still be filed in Michigan, though as a misdemeanor with a maximum of 93 days in jail and a $500 fine.
Illinois’ revenge porn statute is a felony offense carrying punishments of up to 1-3 years in prison and a $25,000 fine.
