UPDATE: Janesville police to charge teenager from Trump rally

Staff Report

A 15-year-old girl who alleged she was groped prior to being pepper sprayed in a crowd outside Tuesday’s Donald Trump rally in Janesville is facing charges for disorderly conduct.

Janesville police reported Wednesday that they were searching for the man who allegedly sexually assaulted the teen as well as another rally-goer who pepper sprayed her.

Police now say that no sexual assault occurred and that the 15-year-old will be charged as a juvenile for landing a punch on a 59-year-old man. The man has reportedly declined to press battery charges against the teen.

Janesville police are still seeking the identity of the man who pepper sprayed the teenager and another female in the crowd. Both victims were transported to the hospital after the pepper spraying incident.

Anyone with information is asked to called the Janesville Police Department at 608-756-3100.
