Music Academy students perform at Cherryvale Mall

On Saturday from 10:45 a.m.-1:45 p.m. students from The Music Academy will be performing near center court on Cherryvale Mall’s main floor for shoppers and visitors.

The concert will begin with Measure 5, the Academy’s advanced performing and touring ensemble, which will be performing selections including The Star Wars Trilogy by John Williams. The Suzuki strings, flute and guitar students will then perform pieces including newly arranged Star Wars Twinkle, performed here for the first time.

The beginners violin class, students three to six years old, and a group of young musicians performing the Orange Blossom Special will also be featured. Morgan Carlson, a violin student and ballerina from Rockford Dance Company, will accompany the viola students as they play Saint Baen’s The Swan. The Academy Youth Chorale and the Suzuki and traditional piano students will also be performing.

This concert will feature the complete spectrum of instrumental and vocal instruction offered by The Music Academy.
