On Friday the Rockford Public Library will be hosting a resource fair, providing an opportunity to meet with representatives from local agencies offering services and assistance in various parts of life. The fair will go from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. in the auditorium at the Library located at 215 N. Wyman St. Those attending should use the Mulberry St. entrance.
There will be representatives on hand to offering information and assistance with education & job training, health care, housing, family & child care, financial issues, help for returning citizens, recreation and more.
During the fair there will be the following workshops:
11-11:30 a.m. – Dealing with Background Issues – Tommy Meeks, Winnebago County
11:30 a.m.-12 p.m. – Clearing Your Record and other Reentry Tips – Leon Hansen, IDES
12-12:30 p.m. – Need your GED? Help Getting Your High School Equivalency – Courtney Geiger, Goodwill
12:30-1 p.m. – Everything you need to know about FAFSA – Danielle Long, ISAC
1-1:30 p.m. – Apprenticeships – Getting Into the Building Trades – NW Illinois Building & Construction Trades
1:30-2 p.m. – Banking, Financial & Money Tips – Justin Burke, Alpine Bank
2-2:30 p.m. – The How-To Guide to Finding Your Next Job – Jessica Koltz, Rasmussen College
