State Representative Litesa Wallace meets with residents Monday

Staff Report

On Monday State Representative Litesa Wallace (D-Rockford) will be answering questions and speaking with local residents during a Coffee Shop Stop at Kate’s Pie Shop, 6685 E. State St., at 11 a.m.

“I believe this will be an important community meeting because I will primarily be in Springfield for the remainder of the month,” Wallace said. “There will be a lot of important decisions made in the coming weeks, and I want to know specifically how my community feels about the challenges we face.”

Wallace will be discussing topics such as the state budget, education, and other issues of interest to those attending. Legislation that specifically affects Rockford will be highlighted and attendees are encouraged to share ideas about how they believe local concerns can be addressed. Wallace will take questions throughout the meeting.

“I look forward to the community feedback I will receive, and I am also excited to be holding this at Kate’s Pie Shop,” Wallace said. “This is the kind of locally owned business that fills a niche and contributes to our community. I encourage residents to join us.”
