Mosaic announces film festival selections

Staff Report

The 2016 Mosaic World Film Festival (MWFF) today announced its lineup of 63 films for its ninth annual event to be held at the Nordlof Center, Aug. 26-28.

This year’s selections were curated from hundreds of submissions and 49 countries around the world.

“We had a terrific and very diverse year of submissions. There is some narrative work, documentary, animation – it really is a great mix of the world filmmaking community,” said Jerry LaBuy, Director and programmer for the MWFF.

“A lot of independent filmmakers from the US and around the world never have a chance to screen their work for a live audience. We are excited to screen some of the best of them right here at our fest in Rockford.”

Advance tickets will be available for purchase online at for $10. These advance tickets are VIP passes which will allow access to any of the screening programs for the entire weekend. Advance tickets will also be available all day on Friday, August 28 at the Nordlof Center box office, 118 N. Main St. during the fest.

Single day tickets are also available, but only at the box office during the event. These tickets cost $5 and are good for a full day of screenings on the day purchased. Admission to any single screening or session of the fest for the entire weekend is free for all Rockford Public Library staff and members.
