While we wait for the budget storm to pass in Springfield, real thunderstorms will move through the area this evening.
Lines of storms are set to move through the area beginning after 4 p.m. The National Weather Service says the likelihood of strong to severe storms is small, with only isolated cells packing high winds and the possibility of small hail.
The biggest risk will, of course, be cloud-to-ground lightning and the chance for localized flooding. The storms are expected to clear out overnight, leaving us with a forecast of sunny and 75 for Friday.
