City: Look out for energy supplier info in mailbox

The City of Rockford is alerting residents and small businesses to check their mailboxes after Friday, July 15 for a mailing from the City’s selected electric aggregation supplier, Dynegy Energy.

The letter provides information on the one-year agreement the City has negotiated on behalf of residents, including pricing, terms and conditions, and instructions on opting out of the program if desired.  Residents and small business owners are automatically enrolled in the City’s aggregation program and will receive the aggregation rate unless proactively opting out.

Customers currently with an alternate supplier other than the City’s aggregation vendor will be sent an opt-in letter explaining the terms and providing instructions on how to enroll if applicable.

Questions about the contract, terms and conditions, or how the process works can be directed to the City’s consultant, Rock River Energy, at 815-732-4603.

As a reminder to residents and businesses, Dynegy Energy will not be calling individual customers to collect personal information, nor will they solicit door-to-door.
