Greek Fest returns to downtown next week

Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 108 N. 5th St., welcomes everyone to Greek Fest 2016, September 9-11.

Friday night is ‘American Night’ with ‘Men of our Times’ performing from 7-10 p.m.  Beginning Saturday, September 10, visitors will enjoy Grecian music and watch the Hellenic Dancers of Sts. Constantine and Helen perform.  Our ‘Agora’ (Greek Marketplace) will offer imported gift items, such as music CDs, cookbooks, jewelry, T-shirts, dresses, aprons, art pieces and beautiful icons.

Bring the children along to take part in kids activities.

Authentic Greek food like souvlakia(shishkabob, pastitso (layered beef and pasta with bechamel sauce), Grecian chicken, gyros, saganaki(flaming cheese),spinach & cheese pies(spanakopita),hot dogs and more!

Our pastry tent is always popular offering baklava, kourambiethes (butter cookies with powdered sugar) breads and other pastries. Hot loukoumades(honey puffs) are a special treat as are baklava ice cream sundaes. Adults can enjoy a variety of beverages including Greek beer and wine at the Taverna. Sure to make you get up and join in the Greek dancing. We are also proud to share elements of our faith along with the beauty of our Byzantine iconography displayed in our church. Scheduled tours will be available Saturday and Sunday.
