Send us your election letters
It’s that time, readers! Get our your pens, your typewriters, or (hopefully) your favored email service and send us your letters about the 2016 general election.
Over the coming weeks, as we build up to Nov. 8’s election day festivities, we will be publishing the best of the best of your thoughts on all the local, state and national races.
Try to keep your thoughts limited to 200 words (we’ll give some leeway if you go over a bit); make sure you only send one letter to us (pick what race or races you care about the most); and be sure to include your name, address and phone number (your full contact details won’t be published; we just need them for verification purposes).
Letters can be sent to The Rock River Times, 128 N. Church St. Rockford, IL 61101, or emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please be sure to note “Election 2016 Letter” above your written letter or in the subject line of your email.
Candidates and campaign staff: please do not send us your press releases, but you are free to pen an original letter of your own.
Letters are published at the discretion of staff. We will not print any libelous, illegible or otherwise litigious letters.
