The Forest Preserves of Winnebago County (FPWC) will host a second session of its Species Spotlight Saturday series, highlighting the Eastern bluebird on March 11, 9 a.m. to noon, at its headquarters, 5500 Northrock Drive.
Join the FPWC for a close up look at bluebirds, as guests will learn about the various habits and habitats they occupy. The FPWC’s Citizen Scientists will also give tips on bluebird nestboxes and monitoring.
This session is free and open to anyone interested in learning about bluebirds; however, those interested in volunteering as official FPWC Bluebird Monitors will need to attend this training.
Contact the volunteer coordinator via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org, or call 815-877-6100 (T/W/Th) for more information.
Pre-register at winnebagoforest.org no later than Monday, March 6 if you wish to reserve a printed copy of the instructional materials at the event. Walk-ins are always welcome; space is limited.
