Main Street repairs force detour route next week

Beginning Monday, March 20, southbound lanes of North Main Street will be closed for paving operations for the duration of the project.

Traffic on North Main will resort to two-way traffic with a single lane in either direction for the duration of the work.

On Wednesday, March 22 a detour between Yonge Street and Brown Avenue will be implemented. Traffic will be encouraged to use Huffman Boulevard for the duration of the work. The detour will be in place for a maximum of four days, ending on March 25. Local businesses will remain open and accessible while the work is completed.

The North Main Street Roadway Project consists of pavement removal and excavation; roadway re-alignment; PCC pavement; HMA pavement; curb and gutter; landscaped median; multi-use path and sidewalk construction; water main replacement; storm sewer installation; landscaping; street lighting; traffic signal modernization and interconnection; pavement markings; erosion control; maintenance of traffic and all other necessary items to complete the improvements.
