Swedes raises $190K for holistic health services
The 23rd annual SwedishAmerican Cruise fundraiser was a sell-out once again this year, with more than 520 supporters in attendance on March 4 at Giovanni’s.
This year, guests raised more than $190,000 Swedes said in a statement, making it the most successful Cruise fundraiser yet.
“We had an extremely successful fundraiser this year and it’s all thanks to the support of our wonderful community and caring employees,” says SwedishAmerican Foundation Director Laura Wilkinson. “All of the funds raised will directly benefit our patients through our holistic health services. Holistic health recognizes the connection between the mind, body and spirit which allows us to continue to enhance our patients’ journey to wellness.”
The event offered a unique evening of attractions, entertainment and sampling of foods from various “ports-of-call,” including Cuba, the Mexican Riviera and New Orleans. Attendees were able to bid on a wide array of silent auction items, participate in a raffle and dance to music provided by Sound Productions (DJ).
All proceeds from the event benefit holistic health services at SwedishAmerican, from therapeutic massage to aromatherapy, music therapy, yoga, the Caring Canines therapy dog program, expressive arts therapy and more. SwedishAmerican is the only health system in the region to offer holistic services to its patients.
