The Rockford Symphony Orchestra will introduce the rush seat ticket concept starting with “I Hear A Symphony – Motown’s Greatest Hits,” Saturday at the Coronado Performing Arts Center.
Concert-goers will be able to purchase best available tickets to RSO performances for $15 at the Coronado Box Office only, on concert day between noon and 6:30 p.m. A limited number of seats will be made available for sale at this special price and must be purchased in person at the Coronado Box Office.
The concert features a hit parade of the greatest Motown Billboard chart-toppers like “I Heard It Through The Grapevine”, “ABC”, “My Girl”, “Stop In The Name Of Love”, “I Hear A Symphony”, “Respect”, and so much more with a full orchestra. Singing songs from the greats like The Jackson Five, Smokey Robinson, Gladys Knight & the Pips, Stevie Wonder, The Supremes, Aretha Franklin, The Temptations and The Four Tops are Allison Semmes, who is currently playing Diana Ross in Motown the Musical; Destan Owens who has appeared on Broadway in Chicago, Smokey Joe’s Café, and Rent; and Patricia Phillips who played the role of Carlotta in the longest running show on Broadway, The Phantom of the Opera. Most recently she appeared in the Tony Award-winning Broadway production of Kinky Boots with Billy Porter and Wayne Brady.
