This is a very relevant article for anyone interested in measuring satisfaction survey and customer complaints. Especially the automation part I find quite interesting and relevant.

Hmm. It seems that if you visit certain publishers, they will tell you that they don't let libraries rent their ebooks. Plus, libraries and bookstores / online retailers are completely different.

By the way, I fully support the SOL movement and am not part of a union OR Occupy Rockford. I don't even have a job. Food for thought.

Finally someone is protesting something worth protesting.

Sadly, not one in a thousand Americans has a clue what CONgress passed and the Head Clown signed into law.

Only the illiterate can imagine that the indefinite detention provisions of the NDAA are remotely consistent with the US Constitution. That this vitriol was passed and signed is a testament to how far the USA has drifted from the MYTHS most people living here still believe.

Regardless of how people feel about the Occupy Movement, we are trying to promote awareness in our community with Occupy Rockford. People need to stop thinking that they cannot effect change in our country. Today was a great turn our for the NDAA protest. People need to learn to educate themselves on what is happening, and then show that we will no longer be silent. Every person has a voice. Let it be heard! :-)

I believe Mr. Strong is the same guy who wanted to ban some books from the library which he did not understand or accept. Digital technology is here. It's not going away. Go visit with some publishers and learn how they're industry is being affected. I really don't think this group of concerned citizens is telling their true agenda. I think this is all employee union driven.

The only concern is that car prices may increase as a result of CAFE. The cost of the development of these efficient cars will most likely passed on to consumers.

Your friends at the Red Star are last with the story once again. However, they do raise an interesting question. WHY DID THE WILLIS TEAM THINK LEWIS WAS ARRESTED FOR SPEEDING? DID LEWIS LIE TO HIS COLLEAGUES? OR ARE THEY SO INCOMPETENT THEY CANNOT PREPARE AN ACCURATE NEWS RELEASE? The following is from the Red Star: A Rockford School District news release issued this week gave Lewis a chance to explain the charges after a “disgruntled” former employee demanded the district release the 2010 arrest record. “Lewis was stopped by the Illinois State Police in Will County for speeding,” according to the release. However, speeding was not among the charges Lewis received that day. He was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a blood-alcohol content over .08, improper lane use and illegal parking on the median. The release did not mention the DUI charges.

Of course current board and administrators will back up their own. Turn the other way and ignore that a guy making $152,000 a year in taxpayer money is a drunk, drives the wrong way on the interstate and carries a gun. This is the example they set forth for your kids?. This guy needs to be fired immediately.

If this "gag order" was initiated by Scott Christiansen, it seems to me that some courageous board member could put repealing it into a proposal for a vote by the board. It is unlikely that any vote against Scott Christiansen by the "good ol' boys" on the present board would pass. So I believe we're stuck with the present limitations until we elect a board whose members want to take the time to listen to their constituants and not take orders from the chairman.
Also, additional presentations at board meetings would take additional time. It has been my observation as a spectator at board meetings that board members only seem interested in registering their predetermined votes and concluding the meeting as soon as possible. Heaven forbid that they take the additional time to listen to their constituants.

In addition to Andrew Strong’s well thought-out arguments, I would like to present this one for your consideration:

The electronic gizmos that our public library would be forced to buy are made by the de facto slaves of a totalitarian government in factories where working conditions are an ever-present threat to their health and safety. For the disturbing details, please see:

In China, Human Costs Are Built Into an iPad
By CHARLES DUHIGG and DAVID BARBOZA
The New York Times, January 26, 2012
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/01/26/business/ieconomy-apples-ipad-and-the-human-costs-for-workers-in-china.html?pagewanted=all

History tells us that this practice of exploiting and brutally abusing working people for profit’s sake is one of our Judeo-Christian civilization’s oldest and dearest traditions. For the horrific details, please read:

Davidson, B. (1980). The African slave trade. Boston : BackBay Books
http://books.google.com/books?id=-pz811rsZmsC&lpg=PP1&pg=PP1#v=onepage&q&f=false

Therefore, I’m well aware that these sorts of moral considerations have no place in the business practices of an advanced capitalist country where, at the end of every year, the fairy tale of “goodwill towards men” is resurrected to promote a frenzy of shopping for “gifts” imported from sweatshops all over the world.

Nevertheless, I present them as part of a research project that I have worked on for many years to determine the dimensions and the dynamics of indifference to human suffering.

out of curiosity, how does someone convicted of a criminal felony become 'bonded' as I am sure all CFO's in major organizations are? wouldn't a background check prohibit that....

I find this just deplorable. Obviously the "disgruntled 205 employer" has known this for some time, which leads me to believe he/she was in the inner circle of the Sheffield team! There have been holes in this man's resume since he came on board, and yet, he is still employed at a big fat salary...while teachers are still waiting for a fair and equitable contract settlement. Do you think for one minute a "lowly teacher" with these same circumstances would still be working in our district? The unfairness of it all is devastating.

1) Exactly who gets off on a DUI charge these days with 12 months supervision and a $300 fine?

2) Maybe they drive on the left hand side of the road in Mississippi. After all, Mr. Lewis had only lived in the state for a short time.

3) Why would the Interim Superintendent ever expect RPS205 administrators to be role models for our children!

Bad reporting. Lawyer Hoadley is paid more than Lewis. Why does district say a disgruntled employee reported it. Who cares who reported it? Only the facts matter. He did it. We're done. District employee who included the "disgruntled employee" comment is an idiot. As for Lewis, lovely high level official we have. We can be proud of him and the rest of the administration who support their gun toting drunk CFO.

“We know all of the details and there are no job performance issues involved,” Interim Superintendent Dr. Robert Willis stated. Really?

I wonder if Dr. Willis and the board would have felt there were no "performance related issues" if one of their teachers got caught drunk, driving the wrong way down a one way street with an illegal gun in the car and pleaded guilty to a felony?

If this had happened to our school superintendent or a board member I'd have expected them to resign.

Hell of an example for our kids isn't he?

Something does not add up. A misdemeanor speeding ticket is different than a DUI, going the wrong way down a highway and a felony gun conviction. Which is it? Did he deliberately give wrong information to his employer?

On the side. Did he ever get his Illinois certification?

The NDAA only goes to further stifle our Constitutional Rights without the approval of the Americans, just as the Patriot Act was adopted WITHOUT public approval or vote just weeks after the events of 9/11. A mere 3 criminal charges of terrorism a year are attributed to this act, which is mainly used for no-knock raids leading to drug-related arrests without proper cause for search and seizure. The laws are simply a means to spy on our own citizens and to detain and torture dissidents without trial or a right to council. You can read much more about living in this Orwellian society of fear and see my visual response to these measures on my artist’s blog at http://dregstudiosart.blogspot.com/2011/09/living-in-society-of-fear-ten-years.html

The detention provisions of the NDAA are indeed a travesty. While Rep. Paul's bill is the strongest vehicle to repeal them and restore due process and the right to trial, concerned Americans can also take action where we each live. Visit www.bordc.org/ndaa for campaign materials, including a resolution through which YOUR city council could raise its voice...if approached by concerned constituents demanding action.

It is worse than the titles suggest. Bill Anderson soxin8@hotmail.com

Congratulations Discovery center! Rockford has some fine places of attractions to be proud of. For instance, I visited the Tar pits and the museum at LosAngeles in the fall of Oct 2010. I can truly say that the Rockford Burpee Museum outshined the LA museum if LA took away the natural tar pits found at the site that noone has control over.

AS more information has come to light, it appears that forced ATM withdrawals associated with murders account for at least 3 of the 104 murders in Rockford from Jan 1 2007 to Jan 1 2012 or 2.89%. This works out to at least 20 murders statewide. This excludes a crime that begins after a voluntary withdrawal, it does not include cases where the victim had no ATM card and it does not include homicides where the victim was killed before a withdrawal could occur.

Once these car get on road and becomes a regular usage in day to day transportation, we cannot conclude.

The theories may not be correct practically.

Debbie, This is a great article, so good that I want to print it to show prospected clients. I see by the "Print this article" that this would be fine with you & PQI, but I am going to ask you personally. I especially appreciate (as a contractor) that you have included the repair work or extensive surface preparation prior to painting, and the possible labor rate in different areas into your equation. Thank you.. Paint Can Pete

I have a gun that my father brought back from WWII. It is a 25 caliper gun with its clip, a box of ammo and the leather case. I also have copies of the papers that they gave my
dad allowing him to bring them home. I was told it was a model 1913 Saier amd Sons (modern dau Sig-sauer.) He said I could probaly get $1000 for it at an auction. Interested in hereing your opinion.\\Faith
