Join Veterans Memorial Hall and Museum and enjoy another installment of our ‘Lunch and Lecture Series’ as we explore America’s involvement in World War One. This lecture will expand your knowledge of the war and help you understand America’s developing role on the world stage.

“Silent Night”- “The Christmas Truce of 1914”
By December 1914, the First World War had been raging for only four months and it was becoming very apparent that it would not be over by Christmas as the participating armies had predicted. Occurring on Christmas Eve and Day, The Christmas Truce saw a halt to the slaughter of the Western Front when the soldiers embraced the Christmas spirit.
