Suspects sought in Rockford carjacking

ROCKFORD — Rockford Police are still on the lookout for two suspects believed to be involved in a carjacking on the city’s east side earlier this week.

Police say at around 8:45 p.m., Tuesday, June 5, officers to responded to 300 Hilton Ave., and spoke to a 28-year-old man who was was driving a 2006 Dodge Charger with a 26-year-old female passenger. They were approached by a black male, approximately 30 years old, and a black woman, approximately 27. Both suspects were armed with handguns. The driver was battered and the Dodge Charger was taken at gunpoint. The car was last seen fleeing south from the scene.
