McDonald’s workers foil Rockford armed robbery

ROCKFORD – An holdup was foiled Wednesday after employees at a Rockford McDonald’s locked the doors when they saw an armed man approach the restaurant.

Police say the armed robbery attempted happened at around 3:45 a.m., Wednesday, at 314 N. Mulford Road, near East State Street. Employees say they saw a lone suspect armed with a handgun approach the building from the parking lot. The workers then hurried and locked the doors, preventing the gunman from entering the business.

When he discovered the doors were locked, the suspect fled on foot.




The suspect is described as a black male around 35 or 40. He is 6-feet, 150 pounds, and he was wearing dark clothing.
