Arrest warrant issued in domestic violence case

Staff Report

ROCKFORD – The Rockford Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a domestic violence suspect.

Authorities say that on just before 7 p.m., Tuesday, patrol officers from the Rockford Police Department responded to a residence in the 1000 block of North Central Avenue in reference to a reported battery.  A woman told officers she’d been physically assaulted by a man with whom she had a previous domestic relationship.

The suspect, identified as 42-year-old Jamie Rogers, fled the scene before police arrived. Details of a follow-up investigation were later reviewed by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office and a warrant for Rogers’ arrest was issued.

Rogers has been charged with aggravated domestic battery. Initial bond has been set at $50,000.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Jamie Rogers is asked to contact the Rockford Police Investigations Bureau at 779-500-6551 or Crime Stoppers, 815-963-7867. R.
