CHICAGO – The Chicago Blackhawks announced Monday that they have assigned defenseman Gustav Forsling to the Rockford IceHogs.

Forsling, 22, appeared in 41 games for the Blackhawks last season recording 13 points (3G, 10A). He also skated in 18 regular-season games with Rockford, notching five points (2G, 3A), and 13 playoff games with the IceHogs, tallying five points (1G, 4A).

The defenseman missed all of training camp while recovering from wrist surgery and has yet to appear in a game this season.

The Blackhawks continue their 2018-19 regular-season schedule Tuesday, Oct. 23 at the United Center against the Anaheim Ducks at 7:30 p.m.

The game can be seen on NBC Sports Chicago, streamed on NBCSportsChicago.com and the MyTeams by NBC Sports app and heard on WGN Radio.

The Rockford IceHogs will host the San Antonio Rampage for the first time this season Wednesday, Oct. 24 at the BMO Harris Bank Center. The contest is the first “Wednesday Dog Day” of the 2018-19 season, in which fans are invited to bring their dog to the game for an additional $2. Hot dogs will also be available for the discounted price of just $2 during Wednesday’s contest. R.
