UPDATE: The two people killed in Sunday’s shooting have been identified as Rockford residents 25-year-old Chiyara Nelson and 29-year-old Shawnquez Edwards.

ROCKFORD – A second victim of a shooting near Broadway and Eighth Street over the weekend has died.

The 29-year-old man was pronounced dead at 1:15 p.m. Monday, Winnebago County Coroner Bill Hintz announced in a release.

A 25-year-old woman was pronounced dead Sunday. A second 29-year-old man is in critical condition as of this report.

Police responded to the scene at 2:30 a.m. Sunday, and say the shooting occurred at an after-hours party.

The names of the victims are not being released at this time.
