Former Guilford volleyball player Celene Morris excelling at collegiate level

DURHAM, N.C. – Former Rockford Guilford volleyball star Celene Morris stepped right in as a major force in her first year at North Carolina Central University.
Morris played in all 25 matches for the Eagles, leading the team in sets played with 91. Morris was a three-time all-NIC-10 outside hitter at Guilford but was moved to her natural setter position for the NCAA Division 1 NC Central.
Morris finished second in the team in assists with 332. She was named to three all-tournament teams – the Elon Phoenix Class, Campbell Volleyball Invitation and the Charm City Classic.
The Eagles went 6-19 this season. They play in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. R.
