Police: Woman carjacked while using downtown ATM

ROCKFORD — A woman was carjacked early Saturday as she was attempting to use a downtown ATM.

Police say the incident occurred around 3 a.m. at PNC Bank, 225 N. Court St. The victim told police a man approached her while she was in the ATM drive-through and demanded that she withdraw money. When she refused, the man pulled her out of her Lexus 300 and took off in the vehicle.

The suspect is still at large. He is described as a black man in his 20s. He’s about 5-5 with a stocky build and was wearing a brown jacket with a hood.

The vehicle’s license plate is H885850. No injuries were reported.
