ROCKFORD — Rockford Police investigators are on the scene of a fatal shooting on the city’s west side.

Aapproximately 5:10 p.m., officers responded to the the 200 block of North Horsman Street after receiving multiple calls that shots were fired in the area.

Upon arrival, officers located two shooting victims inside a residence. The 44-year-old female victim was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

A 20-year-old man was also transported. His injuries are said to be non-life-threatening. The victims’ names are not being released at this time.

The incident does not appear to be random, police said.
