ROCKFORD —  Investigators with the Rockford Police Department are investigating a homicide they say happened Saturday, Feb. 16, in the 3200 block of Ninth Street.

According to a news release, officers arrived on the scene at approximately 11 a.m., and found a deceased woman and another who was suffering from a gunshot wound.

The injured female was transported to a local hospital and is listed in critical condition. The incident is under investigation as a homicide. No suspect information has been identified, however, police say suspect and the victims knew each other.
