Rock Valley men’s basketball comes up short in national title game

ROCHESTER, Minn. — The Rock Valley College men’s basketball team fell to Herkimer Community College 72-60 in the NJCAA DIII national championship at the Rochester Regional Sports Center.

Rock Valley led the Generals 37-31 at halftime and 57-53 with five minutes to go in the second half. That’s then Herkimer went on a 12-0 run to take a 65-57 with a minute to play.

The game marked Rock Valley’s fourth trip to the title game in six years. The Golden Eagles won the title in 2015 and 2016.

The Golden Eagles finished the 2018-19 season with record of 25-6. Herkimer finished 31-1. R.
