Former Hononegah standout Shelby Kline caps stellar college hoops career

BELOIT, Wis. — Former Hononegah girls basketball player Shelby Kline has capped a stellar career at Beloit College.

The Midwest Conference (MWC) scoring leader headlines the 2019 Women’s Basketball All-Conference team. The senior is the second Buccaneer in the last four years to be named Player of the Year and the sixth overall.

Kline improved on her second team All-Conference junior season to lead the MWC in scoring with 18.1 points per game while averaging 3.2 assists and 2.2 steals per contest. The effort landed her in the Top 50 in NCAA Division III. She also topped the MWC in three pointers made with 83, the fifth most in the nation in Division III.

Kline joined the 1,000 career point club in January and boasts a career total of 1,197 points, the seventh most in program history. She led the league in three-point field goals made with 83, the fifth-most in the nation. R.
