Man sentenced to 14 years for 2014 sexual assault

ROCKFORD —  A man has been sent to prison after pleading guilty to sexual assault.

Ryan L. Clark, 33, was sentenced by Judge John Lowry Tuesday to 14 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

On Nov. 27, 2014, Rockford Police officers responded to 1722 10th Street in reference to a sexual assault. Officers spoke to the victim, who reported that she left a friend’s house and was walking home when a man, later identified as Ryan Clark, approached her in a car and asked her if she wanted a ride.

The victim said Clark pulled pointed a black handgun at her, drove her to an area on 11th Street and told her to get in the back seat, where she was sexually assaulted.

Criminal Sexual Assault is a Class 1 felony punishable by a sentence of four to 15 in prison and parole of up to natural life. Clark is required to serve 85 percent of his sentence. R.
