Coroner identifies man killed in Rockford shooting

ROCKFORD – The 19-year-old man killed in a shooting last
Friday has been identified as Trequan Stamper-Ashford, the Winnebago County Coroner’s Office announced Tuesday.
Police say the shooting happened around 11 p.m., in 300 block of Albert Ave. Officers were called to the scene for a shots-fired report and found Stamper-Ashford lying in the street. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His preliminary cause of death is from gunshot wounds
The incident marks Rockford’s seventh homicide of 2019. No suspects have been named as of this report.
