Stateline welcomes national girls softball tournament

ROCKFORD – Eighty-five girls softball teams from six states will compete in the Stateline this week for the 2019 National Softball Association (NSA) North-Central “B” & “C” Girls Fast Pitch World Series.

Teams from Illinois, Ohio, Indiana, Missouri, Pennsylvania and Kentucky will compete in the three-day tournament that features the top youth female softball players in the 10U, 12U, 14U and 16U age groups. 

Games will be played at Rockford Park District’s Mercyhealth Sportscore One in Rockford, Harlem Community Center in Machesney Park, Davis Junction Community Park Softball Fields in Davis Junction and the Youth Sports Complex at the Stateline Family YMCA in Beloit.

Opening ceremonies are 5:30-8:30 p.m. tonight at Rivets Stadium. Games being Thursday and will be played through Saturday, July 20. Sunday, July 21 is a rain date. 

“This weekend we are welcoming over 5,000 visitors to the Rockford region with the help of several community partners throughout the area. We are also thrilled to be working alongside our neighbors at Visit Beloit to host one of the largest girls softball tournament here in the Stateline,” said Lindsay Arellano, RACVB Vice President of Sales and Servicing. “We have great fields, facilities and accommodations to ensure a successful tournament weekend. A big thank you to the tournament directors for choosing our communities to host the NSA girls softball tournament here and we wish the players the best of luck.”
