ROCKFORD – The Boylan Titans showed why they are No. 5 in Class 5A by steamrolling Belvidere 49-7 in NIC-10 Conference football action here Friday.

The Titans went to work quickly, as quarterback John Starck hit Xavier Bryant on an 11-yard scoring strike to cap a quick scoring drive in the first minutes of the opening frame. It was all Boylan from there. The Titans scored all of their 49 points before halftime.

Starck finished 8-14 for 180 yards and two TDs. Receiver Dayvion Foreman capped his night with 114 yards on four catches. Trey Malone had six carries for 88 yards and a touchdown. The Titans held Belvidere to 127 total yards.

Boylan travels to Auburn next week for a battle of unbeatens while Belvidere (0-3) faces cross-town rival Belvidere North (2-1) at home. 

Boylan, Hononegah and Auburn are 3-0 so far on the season.
