ROCKFORD – There are now only two unbeaten football teams in the NIC-10 Conference after Boylan dropped previously unbeaten Auburn 29-6 at John W. Wyeth Stadium Friday.
As they did last week against Belvidere, the Titans struck first and jumped out to an early first-half lead and never relinquished it. Boylan led 21-0 at halftime before stopping Auburn for a safety that made it 23-6 late in the third quarter. The Titans tacked on six more in the fourth by falling on a fumble in the Knights’ end zone. Auburn blocked the extra point.
Boylan (4-0) travels to Hononegah next week to face the unbeaten Indians, while Auburn visits 3-1 Belvidere North.
Hononegah moved to 4-0 Friday with a 42-26 homecoming win over East.
