Seven Rockford men charged with federal drug, gun offenses

ROCKFORD – Seven Rockford men have been arrested on federal drug-trafficking and firearm charges, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday, Feb. 5.

Derek Jacobs 27, and 27-year-old Rico Turner are charged with offenses authorities say occurred in Rockford from July through August 2019. Jacobs faces one count of distribution of heroin and two counts of distribution of fentanyl while Turner is charged with three counts of distribution of fentanyl.

Five other men were also charged in related cases. They are 43-year-old Michael Alexander, of Rockford. He’s was charged with  four counts of distribution of cocaine and one count of distribution of crack cocaine, fentanyl, and heroin.

Twenty-four-year-old Rashad Davis, of Rockford, was charged with one count  of distribution of heroin and one count of distribution of a mixture containing fentanyl and heroin.

Rockford residents Marcus Raymond, 24; 48-year-old Terrail Hunter and 26-year-old Charles Davis are charged in separate cases with illegally possessing a firearm as convicted felons.
