ROCKFORD — Nobody was injured Tuesday afternoon after a pedestrian fired a gun into the windshield of a car that almost hit her.
Police say the incident happened around 2 p.m., in the 1500 block of Rose Avenue. The driver of the car, a 33-year-old Rockford woman, was traveling south on Rose when she slid on the ice and almost hit the female pedestrian. The pedestrian then pulled out a handgun and fired a single bullet at the vehicle.
Officials say the bullet went through the windshield, narrowly missing the driver’s 6-year-old son, and exited through the rear driver’s side window.
The suspect fled north on foot. The suspect is described as a black female in her late 20s to early 30s.
