ROCKFORD — Investigators with the Rockford Department are searching for clues about how a man found near an apartment building died.

The man was found lying in the snow around 3 a.m., Saturday in the 3700 block of Trilling Avenue. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say an initial cause of death has not been determined, and that an autopsy is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 8.
