ROCKFORD — Starting Tuesday, a pair of Rockford streets will see lane closures.

The eastbound lane of South Elm Street downtown will be closed for roof repairs to the BMO Harris Bank Center. That work is expected to be done by Friday.

And South Rockford Avenue will see its southbound lane closed around Second Avenue for sewer repairs. That closure is expected to last until Jan. 16, weather permitting.

Traffic controls will be in place. The city recommends using alternate routes as available. R.
