Weekend sun, rain on tap for Rockford

ROCKFORD — A foggy and wet end to the weekend is in store for the Rockford area, as an active weather pattern continues to keep temperatures above freezing.

Temperatures are expected to hover around 40 for the next two days. Partly sunny skies are in store Saturday with freezing temps overnight. A low-pressure system will move in from there, bringing fog, drizzle and a 40 percent chance of rain Sunday.

Fog could be dense. A half-inch of precipitation is possible before rain turns to snow late Monday.
