$5K reward offered in Loves Park gun shop burglaries
LOVES PARK — A $5,000 reward is being offered for the arrest and conviction of suspects involved in two burglaries at a Loves Park gun store, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) reported Monday.
The first burglary occurred Dec. 15, 2017, when two masked suspects broke into KAP Guns at 7307 Edward Drive. Police say 11 handguns were stolen. Two suspects wearing masks broke into to the same shop on Dec. 27, 2017, and stole 13 firearms.
Along with surveillance footage of the break-ins, police recovered a light blue Dodge Caravan they say was involved in the crimes.
The ATF is offering $2,500 of the reward. The National Shooting Sports Foundation is matching that amount.
