ROCKFORD — An arrest warrant has been issued for a Rockford man in connection with a triple homicide that occurred on the city’s west side.
Raheem King, 22, is wanted for first-degree murder in a shooting that left the three victims dead inside a chartered party bus. Police say King shot the victims with a military-style rifle after 3 a.m., Saturday, when the bus was traveling in the area of Auburn Street and North Johnston Avenue.
The driver remained on the bus and drove to the Mobil station on Springfield Avenue, just south of Auburn, where he contacted 911. King and the rest of the passengers fled the scene.
Police say King may be in possession of the rifle and should be considered armed and dangerous.
The names of the victims have not been released, pending a coroner’s investigation and family notification.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Raheem King is asked to contact the Rockford Police Department at 779-500-6551 or Crime Stoppers at 815-963-7867. R.
