ROCKFORD — Investigators with the Rockford Police Department are searching for a lone suspect they say was involved in a robbery on the city’s southeast side over the weekend.

At around 10 p.m., Saturday, officers were dispatched to the 2400 block of 25th Street, where they spoke to 30-year-old man who said he had been robbed.

The victim said he was walking in the area when he was approached by a man who struck him with a handgun before taking his property and an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 30 years old. He is 6 feet tall, and approximately 150 pounds. He was wearing dark clothing and white shoes.
