ROCKFORD —  The garbage collection for Rockford residents on Memorial Day, and the balance of that week, will be delayed one day because of the holiday.

Trash normally picked up on Monday will be collected Tuesday and so on through the subsequent days of the week.

The household hazardous waste site at 3333 Kishwaukee St. will be open as usual this weekend, Saturday, May 26, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sunday, from noon to 4 p.m. R.
