ROCKFORD – A Caledonia man was jailed Tuesday on charges of aggravated robbery.

According to Rockford Police Lt. Kurt Whisenand, patrol officers responded to Dollar General, 105 Charles St., at around 10:30 a.m., in reference to a possible robbery. Employees told police that a white man dressed in dark clothing entered the store and approached the cashier. The suspect implied he had a weapon and took an undisclosed amount of cash from the register before fleeing on foot.

After the robbery, a traffic investigator located a man, later identified as 36-year-old Eamonn Talkington, walking near Benton and North Longwood streets. Talkington was questioned and later charged with aggravated robbery. He is currently lodged in the Winnebago County Jail without bond. R.
