ROCKFORD —  The garbage collection for Rockford residents on the Fourth of July and the balance of the week will be delayed one day because of the holiday.

Trash normally picked up on Wednesday will be collected Thursday and so on through the subsequent days of the week.

The household hazardous waste site at 3333 Kishwaukee St. will be open as usual this weekend, Saturday, July 7, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. R.
